Belajar Past Continuous Tense

6. Past Continuous Tense
Tensis ini digunakan untuk aktivitas yang terjadi di masa lalu atau waktu lampau. Fokusnya pada aktivitas itu sendiri yang sedang berlangsung ketika suatu aktivitas terjadi di masa lampau. Jadi maksudnya aktivitas ini (Past Continuous Tense) sedang terjadi ketika aktivitas lain (Past Tense) terjadi untuk indikasi waktunya biasanya tidak disebutkan untuk yang Past Continuous Tense tetapi pada Past Tense. Dan apabila ada dua aktivitas yang sedang berlangsung di masa lampau penggunaan Past Continuous Tense dalam satu kalimat juga bisa seperti pada contoh dibawah.

a. Struktur Kalimat
Subject + Was/Were + Verb_ing
Subject I,We,They,You gunakan WERE, dan untuk subject She,He,It gunakan WAS

I was watching TV when Andi came into my room two days ago.Saya sedang menonton TV ketika Andi masuk ke kamar saya 2 minggu yang lalu
They were playing cards when the teacher came into the class yesterday. Mereka sedang main kartu ketika guru masuk kedalam kelas kemaren.
You were doing homework when I asked you to hang out at 03 PM yesterday. Kamu sedangf mengerjakan PR ketika saya meminta kamu untuk nongkrong jam 3 sore kemaren.
We were discussing biology when the accident happened last year. Kami sedang mendiskusikan biologi ketika kecelakaan itu terjadi tahun kemaren.
She was writing short story when the phone rang a week ago. Dia(wanita) sedang menulis cerita pendek ketika telepon berbunyi satu minggu yang lalu.
He was playing guitar while his Mom was sleeping. Dia(laki-laki) sedang bermain gitar ketika ibunya sedang tidur.
It was raining when I was riding my bike. aat itu sedang hujan ketika saya sedang mengendarai sepeda saya.

They were not playing cards when the teacher came into the class yesterday.
You weren't doing homework when I asked you to hang out at 03 PM yesterday.

She wasn't writing short story when the phone rang a week ago.
